Coyote Code of Conduct

CHES School Rules

Calavera Hills Elementary School believes that in order for students to develop and maintain a positive self-image and behave in a productive manner, it is necessary to have a discipline policy that emphasizes the positive, recognizes and rewards responsible actions, and stresses student decision-making. We believe that good behavior will, in turn, lead to improved learning and academic success for all students. Students are actively encouraged to learn and develop responsibility for their own behavior, in turn, contributing positively to the school community.

CHE FAMILY HANDBOOK

ZERO TOLERANCE

The Carlsbad Unified School District has established a “zero tolerance” policy regarding the possession of any dangerous object- i.e. gun, knife, or object used in the manner of such weapons- on school property, unlawful sale of a controlled substance, robbery or extortion, and causing serious injury to another person, and sexual assault. Any one of these offenses will result in an expulsion recommendation.

Discipline is designed to guarantee the safety and well-being of the total school community. Emphasis is placed on student self-responsibility, self-respect, positive learning attitudes, and school pride. Sexual harassment and/or intimidation of any kind- verbal or physical- will not be tolerated and may result in consequences such as suspension. Habitual patterns of inappropriate behavior will require parent involvement to resolve.

As a staff, we are doing everything possible to improve your child's academic and behavioral achievement. You are the most important person in your child's life, so it is in the best interest of your child that we work together regarding student discipline.
