ART IN ACTION

Art in Action is a part of CHE's instructional art program. Each month, an in-depth study of a specific artist allows students to learn and practice the standards for visual arts through a variety of media. Oil pastels are used to create beautiful Edgar Degas-like dancers; chalk and pen are used to paint western landscapes reminiscent of Frederick Remington, and black tempera "ink" became the medium for Chinese bamboo drawings of Katsushika Hokusai.

Supported in full by our PTA, parent volunteers are needed for each classroom. Your commitment is two hours per month -one for training and one to teach students art in the classroom. If you are interested in becoming an art volunteer, please contact our Art in Action chairperson, Jenafer Ralls at jenaferralls@gmail.com.
