Visitors and Volunteers

VISITORS

CHE is considered a closed campus.  All adults are required to sign in/out of the main office.

Parents and guests are welcome on campus for assemblies and special events. Visitors differ from volunteers because they are present for a brief and specific time to observe an event, whereas volunteers are working with or interacting with students.

CUSD uses Raptor Visitor Management System to manage all site visitors and volunteers.

The Raptor system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.

Please remember to bring a government issued ID if you are visiting on campus

VOLUNTEERS

CHE encourages parent volunteers to assist during the regular school day including chaperone our field trips. Volunteers can serve as tutors for individuals or small groups, clerical prep work, support a specific event or chaperone a classroom field trip. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are interested in supporting in this way.

ALL volunteers/field  trip chaperones need to:

  • Submit a volunteer application through the CUSD District Office

    • Volunteers are cleared through the district office, NOT the school site

    • Applications must be submitted and approved well in advance of the event for which you are volunteering

    • You will receive an email when your application has been approved

    • Volunteer clearance rolls over to the next school year

  • You MUST be cleared by the District Office prior to serving as a volunteer or field trip chaperone (Clearance rolls over yearly)

  • Coordinate a time with the teacher prior to showing up on campus

  • Sign in with the main office

    • You will need to bring and scan your ID

  • Wear a badge that identifies you as a volunteer

  • Exit through and sign out in the school office by scanning the barcode on your badge
