The goal of the Calavera Hills Elementary School English Learner Program is to help students develop proficiency and confidence in English and to achieve grade level standards.

ELAC Family Meetings
The purpose of ELAC Family Meetings is to:
- Help develop the plan for English Learners
- Discuss the importance of attendance and share ideas to improve it
- Get feedback from families to improve the program for students learning English
- Receive support for your family
- Learn how to support language development at home
- Have a place to ask questions and gather information
- Celebrate student progress and achievements
All participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their ideas in order to improve the school environment and instruction for their child.

- Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 4:45-5:45 PM
- Monday, December 4, 2023 from 4:45-5:45 PM
- Monday, February 26, 2024 from 4:45-5:45 PM
- Monday, May 20, 2024 from 4:45-5:45 PM
English Learner Opportunities
- Lexia Lab: Monday-Friday from 7:30-8:00 AM in Room 13
- Designated ELD (Small group language instruction) in class 20 minutes/day
- Goal Setting Meetings (4th & 5th Grade) with teacher
- Academic Intervention if needed
- Chromebooks Take-home Program
- Apps & Programs for Academic & Language Support
- Achieve 3000 Parent Tip Cards English
- Achieve 3000 Parent Tip Cards Spanish
Reclassification Criteria
- Overall ELPAC Score = 4
- ELA Grade = 2 or C or greater
- ELA SBAC Score = 75% of standard nearly met
- Lexile Level
- 3rd Grade = 500L+
- 4th Grade = 650L+
- 5th Grade = 675L+
- 6th Grade = 725L+
- 7th Grade = 775L+
- 8th Grade = 825L+
Reclassification also includes parent input and consultation.
