Fourth grade is a year of growth and exploration, where students build on their previous knowledge and dive into more advanced academic topics. In language arts, they will enhance their reading comprehension by analyzing chapter books, identifying themes, and making inferences, while developing writing skills through structured essays, reports, and creative stories. In math, students will master multiplication and division of multi-digit numbers, explore factors and multiples, and work with fractions and decimals. Science lessons will introduce concepts such as ecosystems, energy, weather patterns, and the Earth's natural resources, with a focus on hands-on experiments and critical thinking. Social studies will explore U.S. history, including the early exploration and colonization of America, Native American cultures, and the foundations of government. Throughout the year, students will also develop their creativity and coordination in art, music, and physical education, while continuing to build strong social and problem-solving skills. Fourth grade is a year of discovery, laying the groundwork for more independent learning and deeper understanding in the years ahead.
